Reading Labels on Food Packaging Using 1D/2D Code Scanners
In the food industry, products are weighed after packaging in so-called price labeling scales, after which labels are printed and applied individually. 1D codes of type EAN13, EAN128 or Code128 are used, but also 2D or QR codes. They are read by stationary 1D/2D code scanners with integrated illumination. The codes are read via RS232, EtherNet/IP™, TCP/IP or PROFINET interface and compared with the match code. If the result is the same, the product is passed on to the next process – if not, it is rejected.
1D/2D Code Scanners
1D/2D code scanners read printed, engraved, etched or directly marked codes at high speeds – regardless of the location, position or condition of the code. Data can be transferred via Industrial Ethernet and settings can be received via the intuitive user interface Weblink.
