Presence Check of Use By Date on Food Packaging with Smart Camera

In the food and packaging industry, the use by date labels on food must be reliably verified. If a product appears in retail outlets without a use by date, the entire batch is often returned to the manufacturer – which results in enormous costs. A Smart Camera is mounted above the conveyor belt at a slight angle to the packaging in order to record use by date labels. This checks whether the use by date is present at belt speeds of more than one meter per second. The position of the label can vary slightly.
