Precision, Robustness and Flexibility Combined: The U30T Ultrasonic Sensor

The U30T sensor is particularly easy to integrate and guarantees precise level and detection applications thanks to its robust design and flexible mounting option with M30 thread.

IO-Link 1.1
Flexible installation thanks to thread
Space-saving short format
The U30T ultrasonic sensor in the standardized, short M30 design ensures quick and easy installation. It can be used as both a reflex sensor and an ultrasonic through-beam barrier, offering maximum flexibility. The IO-Link interface ensures convenient parameterization so that the ultrasonic distance sensor can be individually adapted to the relevant industrial requirements. The robust U30T sensor also has synchronous and multiplex mode, which enable reliable use in complex applications.

Product Highlights of the U30T Ultrasonic Sensor

Long Ranges with Small Blind Spot

  • Reflex sensor working range from 100 to 1,900 mm
  • Working range as ultrasonic through-beam barrier from 100 to 3,800 mm

Synchronous or Multiplex Mode

For the use of multiple sensors, the U30T offers two different operating modes:

Automatic Synchronous Mode
  • Up to 32 sensors can be operated at the same time
  • Optimal mode for detecting e.g. wooden boards without delay
Multiplex Mode
  • Simultaneous operation of up to 16 sensors without mutual influence
  • Ideal for level monitoring of large areas

Highly Robust and Easy to Install

  • Quick and space-saving installation thanks to short M30 thread design
  • Robust against environmental influences thanks to IP67 degree of protection
  • Fast operational readiness thanks to parameterization via IO-Link

Fill Level Monitoring of Waste Containers

In recycling facilities, containers for waste materials such as paper, plastic, glass and metal must be continuously checked for their fill level. Replacing too soon or too late can lead to production downtime and high costs. To avoid this, ultrasonic distance sensors are installed above the containers, which measure the level precisely, even under difficult conditions such as dust development, temperature differences or changing material types.

Unwinding Control of Steel Coils

In the metalworking industry, a continuous flow of material and process must be ensured when unwinding and further processing steel coils. For this purpose, an ultrasonic distance sensor is installed above the rolls, which reliably measures the distance between the sensor and the material and determines the coil size and the remaining quantity on the roll. The sensor operates reliably in the harsh ambient conditions of the metalworking industry.
