P1XD Fiber-Optic Amplifiers – The Features behind Them
Three Functions in a Single Sensor
Innovative Pink Light Mode

In pink light mode, both the red and blue emitter diodes are activated simultaneously, resulting in a significant increase in light output. This makes it particularly suitable for use in harsh environments.
Increased range due to parallel connection of LEDs
Activation of pink light mode by pressing a button, via IO-Link or NFC

Dynamic Readjustment
The dynamic readjustment of a fiber-optic sensor automatically adjusts its switching threshold to changing conditions such as aging, contamination or temperature fluctuations.
The set switching point is maintained
Contamination does not affect the performance of the optical fiber sensor, so cleaning is not necessary
Jump Detection

In the case of jump detection, the change in light intensity is evaluated to identify jumps in the signal. This function is particularly suitable for applications where there are large differences in the objects to be inspected.
Fiber-optic sensor does not need to be taught to the environment
Insensitive to contamination and misalignment
Reliable object detection by detecting signal jumps
Intelligent Multi-Unit Mode
The P1XD2 series offers the option of operating a fiber-optic amplifier as a stand-alone unit or in a multi-unit network as a master or sub-unit. During the boot process, the optical fiber sensor automatically detects whether it is in stand-alone or multi-unit mode. As a multi unit, the individual sensor units organize themselves independently. The parameters, including the signal values as process data, are then transferred via the master unit using IO-Link.
This automatic detection significantly reduces installation effort and minimizes the susceptibility to errors, as in multi-unit mode only the master needs to be powered. If requirements change, the fiber-optic sensors can easily be unplugged and used as stand-alone devices. This maintains the flexibility of the system at all times.
