Automated Weld Seam Tracking During Container Welding with Linear Axes Using 2D/3D Profile Sensors
During automated welding of steel tanks, it is very important to place the weld precisely. For this purpose, the tank parts are optically measured by 2D/3D profile sensors installed on the welding torch. The sensor system determines the contour and transmits the position data via an analysis module to the linear axes for guiding the torch. The sensors are protected against welding spatter and ambient light with a special protective housing. An integrated software module also enables easy parameterization of different types of joints.
