Monitoring Boxes at Assembly Stations in the Automotive Industry with Pick-to-Light Light Curtains

Manual assembly or picking work in the automotive industry is subject to strict specifications and sequences. In order to avoid errors, save time and make assembly instructions unnecessary, the parts boxes are monitored by pick-to-light curtains. They are mounted opposite each other in front of the parts boxes. Each emitter already has the necessary reflector on the rear – which simplifies installation. The LED signal instructs the worker which part to grip. If the action is correct, the LED lights up green, if it is incorrect, it lights up red.

Light Curtains Pick-to-Light

Light curtains pick-to-light prevent errors when removing parts from storage locations. During removal, this is indicated by a green or red illuminated LED. Light curtains function in accordance with the retro-reflex principle. The reflector is mounted on the back of the housing to save space and serves as a reflective surface for the adjacent light curtain.
