Esses sensores em formato miniatura determinam a distância entre o sensor e o objeto através da medição do tempo de propagação da luz. A tecnologia interference free da wenglor (wintec) revoluciona a tecnologia de sensores: Ela evita que vários sensores diretamente adjacentes ou opostos se influenciem mutuamente. Os sensores atingem uma frequência de comutação muito alta e usam laser de classe 1, que é inofensivo para o olho humano.
