Mo­du­lar ring lights are cir­cu­lar arrays with se­ve­ral LEDs which are used in com­bi­na­tion with ma­chi­ne vi­sion ca­me­ras. Illu­mi­na­tion Methods Using Mo­du­lar Ring Lights

Ma­chi­ne Vi­sion ring lights are most com­monly used in one of these illu­mi­na­tion methods, de­pen­ding on the wor­king dis­tan­ce (WD).

Low Angle for Short WD

The LMLX low angle light emits light with an angle of in­ci­den­ce at 45°. It can even crea­te an ef­fi­cient dark­field ef­fect at close wor­king dis­tan­ces.

Bright­field for Me­dium WD

The LMRX mo­du­lar ring light without any ac­ces­sory crea­tes a highly dif­fu­se and very bright light, sui­ted for matte sur­fa­ces and fast mo­ving ob­jects. 

Bright­field for Large WD

The ZVZF1 ring light emits light with up to 150,000 lux illu­mi­na­tion in­ten­sity, thus crea­ting a bright­field on large wor­king dis­tan­ces.

Dark Field for Short Wor­king Dis­tan­ces

The LMFX dark field illu­mi­na­tion emits dif­fu­se light with an angle of in­ci­den­ce of 60 de­grees. Thanks to the par­ti­cu­larly flat light guide, sur­fa­ces can be dis­pla­yed with high con­trast.

LMLX Low Angle Light

The LMLX low angle light is a com­bi­na­tion of the LMRX mo­du­lar ring light and a ZMRG low angle ac­ces­sory that allows an angle of in­ci­den­ce at 45°.

This vi­sion ring light is ideal for ins­pec­ting fea­tu­res on shiny parts and high­ligh­ting edges, in­dents, pro­tru­sions and scrat­ches. Ap­pli­ca­tions for this pro­duct in­clu­des the ins­pec­tion of dot-​peen mar­ked and se­ve­ral types of DPM codes.

LMFX Dark Field Illu­mi­na­tion

The LMFX dark field illu­mi­na­tion com­bi­nes the LMRX ring light with the ZMRG dark field at­tach­ment to en­su­re pre­ci­se sur­fa­ce ins­pec­tion at a 60 de­gree angle of in­ci­den­ce. This con­fi­gu­ra­tion is par­ti­cu­larly sui­ta­ble for ins­pec­ting glossy and dark sur­fa­ces, where edges, bumps and scrat­ches are clearly high­ligh­ted.

For exam­ple, the LMFX dark field illu­mi­na­tion helps with qua­lity con­trol and fault de­tec­tion in elec­tro­nics pro­duc­tion by in­crea­sing the con­trast at the edges of the com­po­nents du­ring PCB ins­pec­tion, the­reby im­pro­ving their vi­si­bi­lity.

LMRX Mo­du­lar Ring Light

The LMRX se­ries are a range of po­wer­ful light rings with a high den­sity of LEDs, pro­vi­ding a wide illu­mi­na­tion cone and a lot of dif­fu­sion. They cover a large field of view from wor­king dis­tan­ces of 100 mm up to 600 mm. These squa­re ring lights are sui­ta­ble to illu­mi­na­te ob­jects with matte sur­fa­ces or fast mo­ving ob­jects which re­qui­re high bright­ness.

Ma­xi­mum Mo­du­la­rity

Star­ting from a dif­fu­se LMRX ring light, the ad­di­tion of a low angle ac­ces­sory and dome ac­ces­sory chan­ge the way the light is dif­fu­sed and di­rec­ted to­wards the tar­get.
