Bar Lights for Machine Vision

Bar lights (also line lights) pro­vi­de fle­xi­ble bright or dark field illu­mi­na­tion. In order to ob­tain the best pos­si­ble image of an ob­ject, the ins­ta­lla­tion po­si­tion, the num­ber of lights and the angle of in­ci­den­ce are im­por­tant. The bar lights are a so­lu­tion for Ma­chi­ne Vi­sion, in­dus­trial au­to­ma­tion, ro­bo­tics and iden­ti­fi­ca­tion ap­pli­ca­tions – ma­nu­fac­tu­red by wen­glor.

Ligh­ting Methods with Bar Lights

Bar lights are most com­monly used in one of these ligh­ting methods. Ho­we­ver, there are ad­di­tio­nal tech­ni­ques that are spe­ci­fied in the res­pec­ti­ve pro­duct sec­tion.

Bright­field

By using a bar light as in­ci­dent light, di­rect illu­mi­na­tion cau­ses re­flec­tions on the sur­fa­ce of the ob­ject being exa­mi­ned.

Low Angle

Using bar lights at a flat angle enables a con­trast to be crea­ted at the edges, which allows slight illu­mi­na­tion of the sur­fa­ce.

Dark­field

Po­si­tio­ned as a flat alig­ned illu­mi­na­tion, the bar light high­lights edges strongly while hardly any light falls on the sur­fa­ce.

LBA, LBL and LBO Bar Lights with Angle Chan­gers for Ma­chi­ne Vi­sion

wen­glor LBA, LBL and LBO bar lights can be con­fi­gu­red to suit al­most any ap­pli­ca­tion. Pair the bar lights with the op­tio­nal ZBAG angle chan­gers to widen the beam angle and have fle­xi­bi­lity and con­trol of illu­mi­na­tion across the field of view. The di­rect illu­mi­na­tors have a per­fect ba­lan­ce bet­ween bright­ness and ho­mo­ge­neity, allo­wing the pro­duct to be used at both small and large wor­king dis­tan­ces. The bar lights can be ope­ra­ted with high in­ten­sity in con­ti­nuous mode or syn­chro­ni­zed to the ma­chi­ne vi­sion ca­me­ra in stro­be mode with in­crea­sed lu­mi­no­sity (over­dri­ve). They are avai­la­ble with white, red and in­fra­red light.

LBT Mini Bar Light with Angle Chan­gers for In­dus­trial Image Pro­ces­sing

wen­glor’s mini bar lights from the LBT se­ries offer ex­tre­mely fle­xi­ble con­fi­gu­ra­tion for ap­pli­ca­tions with li­mi­ted space. They are cha­rac­te­ri­zed by a com­pact hou­sing, high lu­mi­no­sity and uni­form light dis­tri­bu­tion, ma­king them sui­ta­ble for both small and large wor­king dis­tan­ces. The LBT mini bar lights can be used either con­ti­nuously with high in­ten­sity or syn­chro­nously with the ma­chi­ne vi­sion ca­me­ra in stro­be mode with in­crea­sed bright­ness (over­dri­ve). wen­glor LBD bar lights are highly dif­fu­se illu­mi­na­tors, per­fect for dif­fu­se low angle illu­mi­na­tion, di­rect illu­mi­na­tion at a close wor­king dis­tan­ce and bac­kligh­ting of spe­ci­fic fea­tu­res on the field of view. Thanks to in­te­gra­ted cu­rrent con­trol and fle­xi­ble moun­ting op­tions, the ligh­ting is very easy to ins­tall and per­fect for a my­riad of Ma­chi­ne Vi­sion and iden­ti­fi­ca­tion ap­pli­ca­tions. wen­glor LB9 bar lights are in­dus­trial IP69K illu­mi­na­tors. The food grade en­clo­su­re is per­fectly sui­ted for en­vi­ron­ments sub­ject to high pres­su­re, high tem­pe­ra­tu­re wa­sh­downs con­tai­ning steam and clea­ning che­mi­cals.
