Precise Positioning of Skid Beams in Press Tools with Laser Distance Sensors Triangulation
In the automotive industry, skid beams must be positioned in front of a press tool so that the sheet metal parts can be pressed precisely. For this purpose, a laser distance sensor triangulation is installed on the side of the conveyor line, which detects the distance between the skid and the sensor with micrometer precision. The sensor uses the integrated EtherCat interface to send the measurement data to the control in real time. This ensures that the components are handed over precisely and without delay. Due to elevated temperatures, the sensor is cooled with an additional cooling module.
Laser Distance Sensors Triangulation
The contactless laser triangulation sensors work according to the angle measurement principle, which enables reliable and highly precise measurement in the close range up to 1,000 mm. The triangulation sensors deliver stable measured values regardless of colors, shapes, rough and textured surfaces.
