Detection of Aluminum Lids for Coffee Capsules with Gloss Sensors

When producing capsules for coffee machines, it is important to ensure that the pads are correctly sealed before the packaging process. The gloss sensors check whether different colored lids made of aluminum foil are correctly sealed on the coffee capsules. Thanks to their ability to distinguish glossy from matt objects, the sensors deliver reliable switching signals virtually independent of distance and color. They therefore enable a reliable distinction between glossy (aluminum foil) and matt (coffee powder) surfaces.
