In automotive shell construction, body parts such as doors, tailgates or fenders are stacked in load carriers and loaded and unloaded by robots. To enable the robot to grip the objects precisely, a time-of-flight laser distance sensor mounted on the gripper determines the distance to the top component. Via the integrated Bluetooth interface, the machine operator can access the sensor wirelessly with their smartphone via the weCon app to set up the application and enable diagnostics during operation.
