Detection of Rubber Splices with Laser Distance Sensors Triangulation
The manufacture of car tires requires a large number of rubber layers, which must meet various requirements at different points in the tire. This involves overlapping individual strips, which is also called splicing. These overlapping layers must be detected by sensors during operation at speeds up to 0.5 m/sec. For this purpose, two laser distance sensors triangulation are installed above the conveyor belt, which reliably monitor the splicing using differential measurement. A switching frequency of 1 kHz is even possible on dark, light-absorbing surfaces.
Laser Distance Sensors Triangulation
The contactless laser triangulation sensors work according to the angle measurement principle, which enables reliable and highly precise measurement in the close range up to 1,000 mm. The triangulation sensors deliver stable measured values regardless of colors, shapes, rough and textured surfaces.
