Bread Edge Detection for Quality Control with 2D/3D Profile Sensors
Edge pieces must not be packaged during the production and packaging of bread. A 2D/3D profile sensor is installed above the conveyor belt to ensure precise detection of the falling pieces.Together with the uniVision image processing software, the end pieces are identified by contour checking and an intelligent measuring algorithm and ejected via a slider. The more accurately the lowest point is determined, the fewer slices are rejected and the more portions are packed. The discarded slices are fed back into the process and processed into new bread.
