Sensing Face
Inductive Sensors: The sensing face is the surface of an inductive sensor by means of which an electromagnetic field is emitted. In accordance with the standard EN 60947-5-2, the sensing face may only occupy one side of the sensor. The switching distance is specified in relation to this surface. The sensing face can be limited by means of a circular marking on the surface of the sensor.
Ultrasonic Sensors: The sensing face is the surface of an ultrasonic sensor by means of which ultrasonic waves are emitted and received.
Safety technology: The sensing face is the surface of a safety sensor (PDDB) by means of which an electromagnetic field is emitted. The switching distance (protected switching distance Sao) is specified in relation to this surface.
