In the food and beverage industry, the presence of best before dates on PET bottles must be reliably verified. Batches without this information are rejected, which is extremely costly. A vision sensor with dome lighting is installed above the conveyor line to check the presence of the best before date label. This sensor checks the presence and position of the label at conveyor speeds of more than one meter per second. Thanks to the outstanding brightness, a high contrast is created on the caps – even with varying label positions.

Dome lights are classically referred to as ‘cloudy day illumination’. It describes the lighting type that is a highly homogeneous and diffuse LED lighting that can eliminate shadows in the images.
