Wavelength

The wavelength is the distance between two identical subsequent oscillations of a periodic wave. Visible light lies within a wavelength range of 380 to 780 nm. The ultraviolet spectrum encompasses wavelengths of less than 380 nm, and the infrared spectrum wavelengths of greater than 780 nm.
