Wavelength
The wavelength is the distance between two identical subsequent oscillations of a periodic wave.
Visible light lies within a wavelength range of 380 to 780 nm. The ultraviolet spectrum encompasses wavelengths of less than 380 nm, and the infrared spectrum wavelengths of greater than 780 nm. The various colors are assigned to the following wavelength ranges:
200 to 280 nm UV-C
280 to 315 nm UV-B
315 to 380 nm UV-A
380 to 424 nm Violet
424 to 486 nm Blue
486 to 517 nm Blue-Green
517 to 527 nm Green
527 to 575 nm Yellow-Green
575 to 585 nm Yellow
585 to 647 nm Orange
647 to 780 nm Red
780 to 1400 nm Infrared
