Efficient Process Monitoring: The UMF Ultrasonic Sensor with Display
UMF ultrasonic sensors emit high-frequency sound waves to accurately measure the distance to objects in the long range. As soon as the pulse hits an object, it is reflected and detected by the ultrasonic sensor. The sensor calculates the exact distance to the target object by measuring the time between emitting and receiving the sound pulse. Ultrasonic sensors from the UMF product family are characterized by their reliable performance and robust design, making them ideal for use in automation technology, conveyor technology and the packaging industry. Their simple operating concept with an easy-to-read display also allows easy configuration of parameters and display of the distance value.

UMF Sensors for Long Ranges and Flexibility
The UMF product family impresses with its easy-to-assemble thread design, which facilitates smooth integration in various application scenarios. With a range of up to 3,000 mm and the option of multiplex and synchronous operation, UMF sensors offer the flexibility required in modern manufacturing processes. It is also possible to use both analog and switching outputs.

Stacking Height Monitoring
Other applications
Fill-Level Measurement of Potato Chips Residues h4>
Leftovers are created during the production of potato chips. These rejects are transported to a waste container along a feed screw. There are four flaps to ensure that the container is filled evenly. Ultrasonic distance sensors with analog output are installed next to the flaps and are used to check the fill level of the container. When the mound of rejected potato chip reaches the maximum height, the sensor switches and the flap is closed. The next flap then opens. Dust and damp surfaces have no impact on the switching behavior of the sensors in the M30 housing.
Fill-Level Measurement in a Storage Tank h4>
In the automotive industry, primer liquids are used as a primer for plastic parts in storage containers at production plants. From these storage containers, the material is automatically supplied to the machines. To ensure the minimum fill level, the level in the containers must be monitored. For this purpose, an ultrasonic distance sensor with stainless steel housing is inside the container, which detects surfaces regardless of structure, color or gloss level. If the level falls below a defined level, the sensor switches and the ball valve must be opened for filling.
