Stack Height Measurement of Wooden Panels in Stack Storage Systems with Laser Distance Sensors
When manufacturing wooden furniture, large wooden panels must be picked up from stack storage systems, transported and deposited fully automatically by robotic grippers for further processing. The surfaces of the wooden panels can vary from light to dark or from glossy to matt. To ensure that the robots with suction grippers know exactly the position of the panels, laser distance sensors Time of Flight with wintec are installed on the gripper unit. These sensors measure the stack height regardless of the surface and transmit the measurement data to the robot via a controller.
Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight
Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight (ToF) work according to the principle of transit time measurement, which means that they cover large working ranges up to 10,000 mm, so that objects can be reliably detected even at great distances. The ToF sensors are extremely robust against interfering ambient light, which ensures reliable operation.
