Reflection

If a light beam is thrown back by a surface or boundary surface, it is said to be reflected. Reflection is therefore understood as a change in the direction of propagation of light or, more generally, of an electromagnetic wave. Reflection can be directed (specular) or diffuse as a result of scattering on a rough surface.
