Non-Flush Mounting

Non-flush mounting is installation method used with inductive sensors (inductive sensor) whose sensing faces are not surrounded by a metal housing. In this way, the sensing field is not subject to pre-damping, allowing for larger switching distances (switching distance) than with flush mounted sensors. A free zone (i.e. a metal-free area) around the sensing face of the sensor must be maintained in order to prevent impairment of the sensor’s characteristic features. They protrude noticeably from the surrounding surface.
