Inspection of Tethered Caps by Vision System
In the beverage industry, bottles are closed with caps, known as tethered caps, after the filling process. These caps must remain firmly attached to the bottle after opening. Before the caps are finally applied to the bottles, a vision system consisting of machine vision cameras, machine vision controllers, software and illumination reliably checks the inside and outside of the caps in several steps. The inspection includes the measurement of diameter, ovality and height, as well as the presence, absence of defects and subsequently the correct seating of the cap. Faulty closures are sorted out immediately.
