Visual “End of Line” Quality Inspection of Engine Blocks via Vision System
Engine manufacturing in the automotive industry requires a visual, fully automated end-of-line quality control at the end of each production line. This prevents faulty engines from leaving the production line. For this purpose, a vision system consisting of several cameras, lenses and illumination is installed on several robot arms. It checks that all attachments have been installed correctly. Each generated image is then evaluated by a control unit via software and the results are finally sent to a higher-level control unit.
