Drag Chain Suitability
Drag chain suitability indicate if connecting lines can be operated with drag chains. They have to fulfil the following conditions to be suitbale:
• Minimal bending radius: 10 × diameter (D)
(Example: cable diameter (D) = 3,9 mm, bending radius = min. 10 × outer diameter, so the bending radius has to be at least 39 mm)
• Minimum bending radius in case of a fixed installation: 5 × D
• Guaranteed bending cycles with a bending radius bigger than 10 × D: Minimum = 2 Million.
• Smallest possible friction factor between chain and wire has to be ensured.
• Maximum acceleration: 5 m/s²
• Tolerable horizontal traverse path at 5 m/s²: 5 m
• Tolerable vertical traverse path at 5 m/s²: 2 m
