Detection of Impacts and Shock Loads in Driverless Transport Systems with Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight
Driverless transport systems (DTS) are means of transport that transport goods on the ground in intralogistics. Orientation tasks, checking the load handling, positioning of the forks or specialist positioning are all carried out using integrated laser distance sensors Time of Flight with wintec. If the goods are dropped or damaged or in the event of a collision of the DTS, the sensors report impacts and shock loads via the integrated motion sensor – and report this to the central control unit. This monitors the condition and diagnoses it quickly in the event of an error.
Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight
Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight (ToF) work according to the principle of transit time measurement, which means that they cover large working ranges up to 10,000 mm, so that objects can be reliably detected even at great distances. The ToF sensors are extremely robust against interfering ambient light, which ensures reliable operation.
