Detection of Red Plastic Boxes for Meat Products in a Washing Plant with Stainless Steel Retro-Reflex Sensors
In meat production, meat and sausage products are transported in red plastic boxes on conveyor belts. After the packaging process, the empty boxes must be hygienically cleaned with high pressure and cleaning agents in special crate washing plants. To reduce water and energy consumption, the machine is only active when there is a box inside. For this purpose, a universal retro-reflex sensor with red light detects the incoming boxes. The robust sensor in stainless steel 316L housing with IP69K degree of protection is resistant to high-pressure cleaning and cleaning agents.

Universal Retro-Reflex Sensors
Universal retro-reflex sensors are suitable for the detection of glossy, chrome-plated or reflective surfaces thanks to the polarization filter. They work with red light or laser light. Objects are detected by interrupting the light beam between the sensor and the reflector.
