Detection of Battery Cells with Retro-Reflex Sensors for Transparent Objects
During battery unit assembly in the automotive industry, individual cells are grouped into modules. Previously tested cells that are unsuitable are separated and collected in so-called stations. The capacity of these collection points is monitored by retro-reflex sensors for transparent objects. If the number of available spaces exceeds a defined limit, the sensor triggers a signal. The integrated polarization filter for clear glass detection reliably detects even the highly glossy, chrome-plated and reflective surfaces of the battery cells.
Retro-Reflex Sensors for Transparent Objects
In addition to detecting glossy, chrome-plated or reflective surfaces, retro-reflex sensors for transparent objects also detect and count transparent objects such as glass or film using red light. Objects are detected by interrupting the light beam between the sensor and the reflector.
