Chip Control on Turned Parts with External Threads via Vision Sensor
For automated lathes, it is necessary to check machined turned parts. If chips were present on the thread in the following process with touch probes, this would distort the measurements and damage the probes. To prevent this, the camera-based weQube vision sensor uses a floodlight to check the thread contour. Thread and winding chips can be reliably detected by setting the image areas and thresholds – and visualized via red LED. If no chip is visible, a green light appears and the object is rotated by 90° for further recording.
B50 Vision Sensors
Vision sensors from the B50 series include numerous image processing functions for the automation industry. From simple presence checks to color and shape recognition, the counting and sorting of objects, these sensors are used for quality assurance – even in real time via Industrial Ethernet.
