Material Separation in Beverage Return Machines Using Through-Beam Sensors for PET Selection
In deposit machines, the relevant material must be determined immediately after inserting the objects. PET or glass bottles as well as metal cans must be detected and sorted for recycling. A specially developed through-beam sensor, consisting of emitter and receiver, is installed directly behind the opening. The sensors can also be used as triggers for downstream processes (e.g. sleep mode).

Through-Beam Sensors
Through-beam sensors detect and count small parts, detect the edges of objects and monitor passages in systems. The emitter and receiver are housed in separate housings according to the through-beam mode. The sensor switches as soon as an object interrupts the laser light, red light or infrared light.
