Presence Check of Syringes with Retro-Reflex Sensors for Transparent Objects
In the manufacturing of syringes in the pharmaceutical industry, the presence of the syringe bodies must be reliably detected in feed and sorting lines in order to ensure a continuous flow of material. The transparent or opaque glass or plastic housings are conveyed along vibratory feed rails where they are detected by retro-reflex sensors for transparent objects. Thanks to the single-lens optics, the syringes can be reliably detected even at short distances. The sensor can be easily configured and replaced via the integrated IO-Link interface.
Retro-Reflex Sensors for Transparent Objects
In addition to detecting glossy, chrome-plated or reflective surfaces, retro-reflex sensors for transparent objects also detect and count transparent objects such as glass or film using red light. Objects are detected by interrupting the light beam between the sensor and the reflector.
