Stacking Height Detection on Colored Plastic Crates with Laser Distance Sensor Time of Flight
In the beverages industry, plastic crates of different colors are stacked vertically on top of each other before and after the cleaning process. In order to reliably detect the maximum stacking height of four meters, a laser distance sensor Time of Flight is installed above each stack on the hall ceiling. These measure the exact height of the colored stacks of boxes analogously from top to bottom – regardless of whether they are glossy, matt, new or used. Thanks to the robust stainless steel 316L housing, the sensors are ideally protected against water vapor, dirt and even cleaning agents.

Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight
Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight (ToF) work according to the principle of transit time measurement, which means that they cover large working ranges up to 10,000 mm, so that objects can be reliably detected even at great distances. The ToF sensors are extremely robust against interfering ambient light, which ensures reliable operation.
