Profile Measurement of Rail Heads via 2D/3D Profile Sensors
In order to be able to guarantee the safety of passengers on passenger trains, the rail network has to be checked regularly – with highest precision on thousands of kilometers. In measuring trains, online measuring systems use 2D/3D profile sensors that detect breakouts, subsidences and defects in the micron range via laser triangulation. Despite strong extraneous light and extremely high temperatures, the sensors work reliably on bare steel at speeds of up to 300 km/h. Thanks to the sensors’ large measuring range, curves or fluctuations of the wagon can be compensated reliably.
MLWL 2D/3D Profile Sensors
2D/3D profile sensors from the weCat3D series use the principle of laser triangulation to create 2D height profiles and 3D point clouds. The MLWL model offers unbeatable profile quality thanks to its optimized, high-quality optics.
