Parts Measurement on Brake Linings Using Triangulation Laser Distance Sensors
At the end of the production process for brake linings in the automotive industry, the defined tolerance values of the object dimensions must be checked. After all, all linings must have an even thickness. For this purpose, two triangulation laser distance sensors are installed above a clamping device. They measure the ends of the brake pads from above. A subsequent target/actual comparison indicates whether the values are within the tolerance, i.e. whether the brake lining can be approved for assembly.
Laser Distance Sensors Triangulation
The contactless laser triangulation sensors work according to the angle measurement principle, which enables reliable and highly precise measurement in the close range up to 1,000 mm. The triangulation sensors deliver stable measured values regardless of colors, shapes, rough and textured surfaces.
