Straightness Check on Pipelines via 2D/3D Profile Sensors
For precise quality control of pipelines for oil or gas networks, the straightness, diameter and roundness of the large crude oil conveyor pipes must be checked. To measure straightness, four 2D/3D profile sensors are installed above the pipe in a line. As the pipe is conveyed, the sensors measure the object via laser triangulation. If defined tolerance values are exceeded, the system stops for troubleshooting.
