Gantry loaders are used in logistics warehouses for transporting large goods such as drive motors. In order to grip the parts safely and precisely, a laser distance sensor Time of Flight with wintec is installed on the gripper unit. The sensor is stored in a robust stainless steel housing and measures the exact distance to the object. It can send additional information about vibrations or shocks that can occur during gripping to the machine controller by additionally evaluating the force. This allows this process to be monitored and readjusted during operation.

Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight

Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight (ToF) work according to the principle of transit time measurement, which means that they cover large working ranges up to 10,000 mm, so that objects can be reliably detected even at great distances. The ToF sensors are extremely robust against interfering ambient light, which ensures reliable operation.
