Two-Width Code

A two-width code uses bars and spaces of only two different widths. Advantages of two-width codes (e. g. Code 2/5, Code39) include easy barcode generation and reduced technical requirements for the scanner. On the other hand, their minimal information density places them at a disadvantage in comparison with other barcodes.
