PCB Detection on Transport Modules with Fiber-Optic Amplifier and Several Fiber-Optic Cables

In the electronics industry, PCBs must be detected on transport modules at several stations in order to ensure safe transport. For this purpose, an angled fiber-optic cable with transmitter and receiver (barrier principle) is attached to the side of each station in the narrow side panels. The fiber-optic cables are operated using the multiplex method on a multi unit located outside the conveyor line. This communicates with the control system via the master. Mutual interference can thus be ruled out and reliable detection of the printed circuit boards at each individual station can be ensured.

Fiber-Optic Sensors

Fiber-optic sensors are ideal for detecting small parts. They use plastic or glass fiber-optic cables, which can also be used in hard-to-reach places due to their high flexibility. Plastic or glass fiber-optic cables are connected to fiber-optic sensors for use in applications with limited space or high temperatures. They offer advantages such as high sensitivity, quick response time and robustness.
