Barcode Reading on Workpiece Carriers for Traceability by Barcode Line Scanner

All process steps are linked to each another on assembly lines. Especially in industries such as the automotive sector, medical or aviation industries, every single component and every work step must therefore be identified and documented for every product before processing – this is known as traceability. For this purpose, the workpiece carriers receive individual numbers in the form of lasered barcodes. Barcode line scanners read the code and transmit it to the control system via Ethernet. This is where the processing step for tracking is saved.
