Detection of Metal Skids in Drying Systems by Means of Inductive High-Temperature Sensors

In drying systems in the automotive industry, varnishes on body shells must be heated for drying. Each chassis is placed on a skid carrier. This is transported through the furnace on a chain conveyor with temperatures of up to 250 °C. Inductive sensors for extreme temperature ranges are installed on the side in order to be able to reliably monitor the positions of the skid carrier there. These detect the skid carrier at a distance of 35 mm. As these welded carriers have manufacturing tolerances of a few centimeters, sensors with high switching distances are required.

Inductive Sensors for Extreme Temperature Ranges

These inductive sensors detect contactlessly metallic objects in extreme temperature ranges. With increased switching distances and a very robust design, the sensors are designed for a long service life of several years.
